CARCASS DATA:

This is carcass data provided by Walters Land & Cattle as an example of what Aberdeen genetics can do in a commercial cattle operation. As with any cattle breed, not all Aberdeen genetics are suitable for a beef production environment. These results focus specifically on composite cattle all sired by TL Julius. 

SAMPLE CARCASS DATA:

52 steers and heifers sired by TL Julius were harvested in 2014, and sold on the grid by Walters Land & Cattle. The cattle all graded either Choice Plus or Prime with a Yield Grade 1. They added avg. premiums of $62/cwt. above market price. In addition, out of 346 heifers produced, Walters Land & Cattle held out 68 TL Julius heifers as replacement heifers. Only these heifers were not for sale. They liked them that much.

Walters Land & Cattle continues to use TL Julius (Fullblood Aberdeen) as a replacement heifer bull. Currently there have been over 4000 head sired by Julius and about 2000 on the ground as of January 2019. They also use other Surpriseline bulls in their commercial cattle operation.
