BREEDING PROGRAM

It’s not about the numbers, it’s about the quality…
Our Registered Angus and Registered Aberdeen Plus breeding program encompasses the meeting of three programs – Rocking R Cattle Co. of Hayden Idaho (Registered Angus), Cloverdale Farms (Registered Moderator American Aberdeens) and Topline Aberdeen Cattle (Fullblood Registered Aberdeen Cattle). Our vision is to produce the highest quality Aberdeen Plus cattle by breeding the best registered Angus to the best American Aberdeen to produce proven matings that excel in commercial and seedstock operations.

ANGUS PROGRAM

Our females were originally purchased from Rocking R Cattle Company owned by Ron and Shelley Rosenberger. Ron is Donna Boekel’s brother. Ron and Shelley have been working on building their herd for over 25 years. They have a very successful ranch and have earned an excellent reputation for their cattle.

At 4D Angus bulls are sold either private treaty or at The Angus Alliance Bull Sale in February every year. Steers are sold at weaning. Females are sold private treaty or go into our Aberdeen Plus program.

ABERDEEN PLUS PROGRAM

Aberdeen Plus is a trade name for Registered Angus/Registered American Aberdeen Angus cross cattle. They are considered the best of both worlds. With Angus you get the reputation and excellent traits that Angus are known for. With Aberdeen, you get the original Foundation Angus type which is a more moderate frame size along with high feed efficiency, excellent taste, texture and tenderness beef characteristics and exceptional ribeye area per hundred pounds of body weight. Aberdeens are excellent for grass fed and finished operations because they have such a high ability to maintain themselves on grass alone. Angus females come from our Angus program and American Aberdeen bulls come from Topline’s cow family “Surpriseline.” This cow family brings proven genetics that excel in both commercial and seedstock operations.
